Every year St. Peter’s Church holds a Garden Party in the grounds of the Church. This is always on the Saturday preceding the festival of our Patron Saint, St. Peter, on the last Saturday in June from 2pm – 4.30pm. During the morning those passing the Church are able to witness a flurry of work as gazebo’s are erected and stalls set up so that, hopefully, we are all ready for the opening at 2pm.
The Garden Party is one of two major fund-raising events for the Church and is always a very happy occasion, whatever the weather, where we welcome friends and neighbours from the community and further afield to come and share in the fun.
Stalls include gifts, bric-a-brac, cakes, books and toys as well as a bottle tombola and a raffle. For the children there are games as well as a bouncy castle and face-painting. Add to that refreshments, strawberries and cream, ice cream and a Pimm’s tent and you have the perfect recipe for a great afternoon.
Why not come along and join us?!
